My new Website is now live! I finished it last week and I am so excited about it. It is my very first proper website and it feels like I have a proper place to promote myself as an artist and graphic designer now. Something I always wanted.
I'm really happy with the about page, but it is hard to stay professional when you talk about yourself and your life. I think I managed to keep it short and to the point. I would love to hear what you think? Does it need more, or maybe less?
I think I am most proud of the portfolio setup. You get a good overview without clicking on anything of what I can do and of what I can offer my clients. What do you think?
I've also designed myself a new business card which has the same theme as the website. I will have these printed at the end of the month I think and then start promoting my graphic design business for real. I can't wait. It will be great to start working in another area of the art market.
There is still a few sections to sort out on the website, like the "services" section for example. I want this page to be very swish and professional looking so I am working hard on getting that bit sorted at the moment. I have a busy week ahead of me though so I can't really say when I will find the opportunity to sort it out. However I would greatly appreciate your opinions and tips on how to make my website as good as possible. Would you be happy to hire me after what you have seen? Thank you all for your support!!!! Trikky and Munny...
What are you lot up to today? I got a day full of work but have made some plans for tomorrow. It is Friday after all and I am working at my part-time job all weekend. So I decided that tomorrow is me time....
I got these Trikky and Munny DIY dolls for Christmas and they've been sitting around for long enough now I think. I've had my mind set on the designs for them for quite a while, but I like to make my ideas stew for a bit if there is anything I might want to change.
After doing all the reading on Etsy the other day I've decided to make weekly set goals and this is part of my first week. As I am a working artist I do take my "personal" projects in to mind when it comes to work as well. It is important to me as an artist to feel that I have a free mind and a choice. When I don't variate my work I tend to go in to "robot" mode and I slowly head down a steep hill when I do this. There is a fine line between work and free-time when you spend most of your time working with what would be your spare time if that makes any sense at all. I'm sure most of you know what I mean. Anyway, Friday is creative day. No computers, just clay my models and myself in mah bubble! lol
Today I got a load of cases to finish off and I've also noticed and decided something very important in my work from home life. I suck at taking breaks. I get up, have my breakfast in front of the computer, where I read all my blogs and sort my own blog out as well as all the social media. After that I get stuck in my slackies working all day. I do take a break when I am so hungry that my tummy hurts, but that is it. Not a great way to work I think. So today at around 13.00 I am taking my man for a coffee and a stroll around the neighborhood. And this is going to be a daily routine for me. I live in the middle of a beautiful town center which I never seem to take advantage of, so now I'm going to and I am going to feel great about it.
Oh and I have to tell you about my new best friend. My NOTE BOOK! I always envied people with note books, however silly that may sound. But I was always useless at taking notes. Maybe because I never found anything interesting enough to take notes of and rather scribbled little funny characters in them than anything else. But now that I have found a path, a calling, I tend to write every single little quote or good point on how to make a good business, down. It is always next to me now when I surf the internet for information, or just for fun, it seems to come in handy everywhere. Maybe I'll start carrying it in my hand bag as well.
Lesson for today: NOTE BOOKS ROCK!

Bye Bye Little Friend...
Yesterday My little Tunip Thief left me. I am over the moon that someone out there actually bought a real art piece of me and something that I haven't under priced for once. I started to doubt that it would ever sell, but when I got an email that morning I just jumped out of bed. This means so much to me as an artist and this is what makes my self-confidence a little better every day. So thank you whoever you are. I will miss my Turnip Thief but thanks to you I now have more inspiration than ever! Thank you!

Workstation and a little bit of everything...
Hi everyone! I thought I'd show you my new and improved work station. Not much has happened, but I am in love with my new bookcase. This bookcase is probably the single most perfect workstation bookcase there is!
Not only does it fit perfectly in to my little corner but it has room for ALL my toys and bits and bobs, and I haven't even filled it yet!
Some of those little cupboards are still empty...
And that is just great because it is where I keep all my fur and in hopefully not too long I will get tuns of new furs that I can fill my lovely bookcase with!
There is even room for all my little prototypes which normally just ended up in a box and were forgotten about.
Besides admiring my new bookcase I have been busy drawing. Do you remember that "project" I was talking about a while back? Well I am back on track with that I think it will look great ones it's all done. My boyfriend is helping to make it look extra swish and I have high hopes for this indeed.
Also got some new eyes through the post and will probably make something new and slightly creepy/cute out of these. I need to think about it a bit longer though. It was an impulse buy when I bought more Yoji noses.
Oh! And yesterday this little creature popped out of my mind. For a while now I have wanted to do something a little bit different. I don't know if I posses the knowledge yet but I will defienitly push myself to learn how to make plush sculptures. This will be my first project, however I still need some stuff to be able to start. I will keep you up to date on how things are going though :)
SQUEEE!

Review: Dolly Oblong - Cut out paper toys
I thought it was good time for me to make my first review. And I thought Dolly Oblong was the perfect artist/shop to start with.
I only found Dolly Oblong a few months back, when I heard of ToyCon UK. I was browsing through the artists that were going to attend the Convention and among them I found Dolly Oblong.
I fell in love with her art and her toys as soon as I entered her website. My fingers were inching to get the paper toys. And yesterday they landed in my mail-box.

As you can see I couldn't settle for just one, and if I could have afford it I would probably have bought the lot!
These toys are extremely well made and the artwork is just gorgeous! For the straight bits I used a scalpel and a ruler and I would suggest you do the same if you decide to get these cuties. For the round bits, like arms etc I used scissors as the scalpel is hard to use on these bits.
I think these toys would be great for anyone. They do take some time to build, but as for myself I love the challenge and I love working with my hands, so I enjoyed every single bit of it. I actually built them all in one night cause I quite simply couldn't wait too see what they would look like.
I will definitely get more of these in the future and I can't wait for the next release. Dolly Oblong's website is a MUST to visit! I can sit and brows it forever. It is such a treat to the eye! She makes plushies and other toys, along with art prints and well lets just say she is super creative and it seems that whatever she touches comes out amazing!
These two were included as well. I didn't order them so they were a great little extra surprise! Thank you ever so much!
So head on over to Dolly Oblong and knock yourself out! These guys are too good to miss out on. Also, the shipping was super fast. These guys came within three days all the way from Netherlands to the UK! And the shipping was included in the price. I only have great things to say about Dolly Oblong and I would recommend her to anyone. 5 stars out of 5 possible!
