Forest Oracle - The Fox

 Hi everyone! So I have been very busy for Christmas, making presents and orders for you guys. I've decided to keep the shop open for another week and will be taking the last orders for Christmas on Sunday the 7th of December. What I wanted to tell you though is that this Forest Oracle is up for grabs in the shop. It will be an amazing Christmas present for anyone and super unique. It is a one of a kind item and full of wisdom.

 Her body is needle felted and her face hand sculpted out of polymer clay. Her eyes are taxidermy glass eyes and extremely detailed. Her face is painted in acrylic paint.

Cloudy Birdies and Foxes in the Woods...

Good morning Everyone! And happy Monday! I've spend all my weekend sorting MobiLOVE out with new designs and I've explored my Graphic Design skills a bit further. My mission at the moment is to work with geometrical and fairly simple and straight forward shapes, to create something new, and unique. I am enjoying myself as I always do exploring new art forms.

So these are my two new designs that you can buy from the MobiLOVE shop if interested. Other than that I spent more or less all of last week preparing for the babies arrival. I am happy to say that the baby corner is ready and my bag's packed for the labor. At the moment I can't sit by my desk and eat properly without my tummy hitting my plate. That's how big I am, and that is how ready I am for baby to arrive now. Maybe this week! Fingers Crossed!

Recycling... in a way...

Yesterday, in lack of other things to do I went through my old Tomo folder on my computer to see what designs I could recycle and use for MobiLOVE instead. I found quite a few. Like all of these for example. They are my old Pocket Mirror designs. It is "The Forest Dwellers" collection and the "Kawaii" collection. I found loads more designs that I used for the necklaces and hair-clips you can find at Tomodachi Island as well. But I didn't have time to sort them out in the end. I got stuck doing descriptions and search words for ALL of the cases at MobiLOVE. That might have been the most BORING job I have ever made, but I realized I had done it all wrong and unfortunately in business you have to do the boring things too. So I did, until 21.00 last night..... (-.-)

That is why I might not have the most interesting blog post for you today. But better than nothing I guess :) I am also struggling with this silly little cold that seem to have taken all my energy away from me. But I will not let it have me completely! I SAY NO!

mobiLOVE...

I am sooooo fed up of waiting! I thought ordering the cases from a UK based company would speed things up but apparently not. Think I will be ordering else where the next time. I really don't understand how people run businesses sometimes. Ah well, enough ranting. Since I just can't wait any longer I thought I'd show you what I am working on at the moment. I think the cases look really cute and I am super happy with how they are coming out. I can tell you now that I am opening a second store on Etsy where you will be able to find more "conventional" cases such as these two. Tomodachi Island is a yeti and monster continent and will stay that way as it is my biggest project at the moment. As you know I am building a whole story around Tomodachi Island and I don't want things in the shop to stray to far away from it. So the new store is called mobiLOVE. It is not running yet, but as soon as I get my cases it will be open. I will share the address with you when it is all sorted. Till then I would  love to hear you opinions on these two.

Portfolio Work...

 My new portfolio is slowly growing. I am exploring art forms that I have never tried before. This is so out of my comfort zone, but it is great to see what you're actually capable of. I have downloaded some packaging templates and am going to design some packages as well. I am really looking forward to that bit since I have never done anything like it.

Anyway, the bottom picture is what I am working on at the moment and she is coming out lovely! I will show you the whole picture once finished.

The Fox...

Finished the little fox this morning. It is a completely new take on my art. Very simplified, but I love to work this way. It is funny how important little details such as texturing and little highlight become when you work with minimalistic drawings/paintings. You want to leave it simple but still interesting. I think the texture of this one made it pop, and a will definitely work with texture more in the future. Hope you like it!

A Good Day...

 Good Morning world! Today is a good day! I have been feeling a bit down lately, mainly because I am an expert in stressing myself out over things that I shouldn't stress about. As you know I have been extremely busy during November and December. I worked really hard to keep my customers happy. Now many orders have been delayed by the postal system and there is nothing I can do about it. But I have had a few angry emails and I have let them get to me in a way that I shouldn't. I take set backs really hard though and I blame myself and let it take over. I need to learn to handle these things as it will happen again. Anyway, yesterday I had a good cry and a chat with my boyfriend who always pick me up when I am down. I have decided to stop taking things personally and work harder on being as happy and cheerful as I can be. So after a good night sleep I feel a million dollars again!

I had a couple of sleepless nights before last night and got some art done anyway. I am trying to explore different art styles to update my commercial portfolio. I've wanted to be part of an Art Agency for a while now, but since I have mainly focused on digital painting I think it might be a bit to complicated and not what companies look for when they look for a Graphic Designer. By joining my tattoo design knowledge with my digital art and creating something that I have never done before, I think I've come up with a pretty cool style. We'll see what happens, but I will definitely keep working on it. I think they would be nice art prints as well.

Also, I was given my first KidRobot DIY Vinyl Toy for Christmas! A 7" FOOMI! Best Christmas present EVA! Lol! I have started to sculpt his face as you can see, but there is still a few things I need, to be able to complete him. I was just so eager to start on him that it was the first thing I did when we came home after Christmas. Can't wait to finish him!

Today if time allows I will start Tomo's newest product as well. I can't say what it is just yet, since I don't know exactly what it will look like. However I will keep you up to date on the progress!

Oh and also I have updated my work area with a new bookcase and a whiteboard to help me being more organized! Do you like it? I love it!

This is my secret little project I've been working on. These adorable creatures will be decorating pocket mirrors that I ordered today. They'll be with me in 4-8 business days, so fingers crossed I'll be able to have them up for sale next week at some point.

I call the range "Forest Dwellers" and if these do well, I can guarantee you that you will see other ranges too. I also plan on using the illustrations for art-prints later on. Obviously with more detailed backgrounds. I spent so much time drawing these so I thought it would be a shame NOT to make them into art-prints so that you can appreciate the detail in larger formats.

Anywaaaaays, happy days! I am looking forward to seeing them! Hope you are too!

New Necklaces In STORE!!!

It took a little while longer than the Hair-clips even though I had the charms at the same time. I ran out of jump-rings in the middle of everything and nobody seemed to have any in town. It left me with no other choice than to order online so I had to wait a bit. But now all of them are assembled and up in the shop. Sorry to those I kept waiting. Hope you like them anyway!!! Third of the iPod/iPhone cases range little Tomo Foxie. Cute little thing that I am very happy with. I've made along list now of handmade iPhone/iPod cases. 3 down 11 to go if I can find the material I want for them. Stay tuned!
